Themes of the month...
We continue with "Balance" as the overall theme with each of my 3 classes exploring a different sub-theme (see below).
Classes will focus on balance with specific applications to walking.
We all have to balance on one leg when we walk...and we need to do this over and over again. The degree to which we balance well, on each leg as we walk has far-reaching ramifications. Less than optimal balance and stability on one leg may, over time cause aches and pains and wear and tear on various parts of your body.
Discover ways to improve your balance and put more spring in your step in this month's class series.
Series runs July 1 to July 31, 2019.
MONDAYS @ 10:00 AM - Integrating Your Arms with Your Spine, Head, Neck and Hips
Dr. Feldenkrais taught several movement patterns that became known as "prayer" patterns. We will explore several of these creative and unusual arm movements as a vehicle to improve balance, reduce head/neck/shoulder tension, and improve posture.
TUESDAYS @ 5:15 PM - Aligning Your Spine and Improving Balance with a Foam Roller
We will be using a 6" x 36" foam roller for each class. There will be some rollers available to use for those that do not yet own a roller. The foam roller will be used to improve your ability to sense your spine/midline while simultaneously challenging your balance and engaging your core.
WEDNESDAYS @ 12:30 PM - Mobilizing C7 for Better Balance, Free and Relaxed Neck and Shoulders and more...
We will put special attention on the seventh cervical vertebra, aka C7 during Wednesday classes. C7 or T1 (the first thoracic vertebra) represent the junction
