A 2-part introductory series focused on reducing pain and tension in your back, neck, shoulders and hips and aligning your spine for better posture and more efficient movement. You may come to one workshop or attend both at a discount. Audio recordings will be provided for your home practice. You will leave each workshop feeling relaxed, re-organized and re-energized.
Part 1: Lower Back and Hips
Saturday, July 27, 2019, 10 am to 12 pm
Part 1 will get your hips and lower back playing together nicely again. The lumbar spine and hips are functionally connected. This class will help restore that connection and bring harmony to your hips and back. You will learn to use functional movement patterns, your attention and simple props to effortlessly bring significant change. Leave class with better posture, a spring in your step, and an overall feeling of well-being.
Part 2: Upper Back, Neck and Shoulders
Saturday, August 4, 2019, 10 am to 12 pm
Part 2 will help you get rid of that pain in your neck and tension in your shoulders. Your neck, shoulders and upper back can become immobilized with tension. When you learn to move your body so its various parts work together rather than in opposition, the movement itself becomes the antidote to immobility. Leave class with relaxed neck and shoulders, a light and free head and a more upright and effortless posture.
- Most of the workshop will take place lying on the floor. A limited number of exercise tables are available should you have difficulty getting down to the floor.
- You will learn exercises that can be done at home, at the gym, and in a chair.
- The entire class series will be audio-recorded and provided for your home practice.
$45 for each workshop or $75 for both.
