ABOUT DALE
Michigan Feldenkrais is the Feldenkrais Method practice of me, Dale Jensen. I’ve been a Guild Certified Feldenkrais Practitioner since 2009 and teaching group classes since 2007. My formal eduction was at the University of Michigan (Go Blue!) where I earned degrees in engineering and biology. I first heard about Feldenkrais from my wife who used it while we lived in Seattle to heal from a back injury. After sustaining an injury while training for a marathon, I explored a variety of modalities (all helpful), but was particularly struck by the DIY / self-healing aspect of Feldenkrais. Fast forward a few years and I found myself in Toronto at a Feldenkrais workshop through a very serendipitous chain of events. After one Feldenkrais “lesson” during the workshop, in particular, I was hooked. Eventually I signed up for the training in Toronto, quickly realizing this was what I wanted to do for fourth career.

I've used Feldenkrais over the years to heal from various injuries (knee, back, hip, elbow), recover from surgeries, regulate anxiety and deal with stress and enhance my performance in various physical pursuits. I can personally attest to its effectiveness!
In addition to ongoing Feldenkrais learning, I’m inspired by time in the mountains and time on/in/around water. I’m also inspired by my explorations of the aerial arts, in particular with Lyra (aerial hoop). Over the years I’ve explored a variety of sports / movement and meditation practices (aikido, running, strength training, pickleball, tai-chi, Vipassana and somatic meditation, yoga, pilates, cross-country skiing to name a few) as well as dealing with a number of personal movement challenges over the years. Feldenkrais has enhanced each and every one of these pursuits and challenges.
I’ve been offering classes and individual sessions in the Ann Arbor, Michigan area since 2009. I’ve taught in a variety of settings including the Ann Arbor YMCA, Ann Arbor Rec & Ed, Washtenaw Community College, Ann Arbor Institute of Massage Therapy and the University of Michigan Dance Department. I also served on the Feldenkrais Guild of North America Board of Directors for 2.5 terms.
My passion is facilitating a client's deepening connection to their body's inherent intelligence. Clients come to me on different journeys - healing journeys, performance improvement journeys and the journey of feeling more at home in the body. My goal is to empower my clients to take the next steps on their journey.
Clients see me for help with aches and pains, recovery from injury, avoiding / preparing for / healing from surgery, improving performance as well as feeling more at home in their body, more relaxed. Clients also see me for help with neurological conditions such as stroke, Parkinson's and Multiple Sclerosis.
There are many, many more applications of the Feldenkrais Method. If you are curious about how it could help you, feel free to reach out. I'd love to help you on your journey!
