JANUARY | FEBRUARY
CLASS THEMES
Two classes per week are offered at the same time to amplify and extend the benefits of Feldenkrais throughout the week. One longer format and one shorter format class are offered for each time slot to accommodate those seeking a more efficient "reset" along with those looking for a deeper experience.
Mondays and Thursdays @ 10:00 AM:
"Hips, Shoulders and Everything In-Between"
Hips and Shoulders are some of the more common challenge areas. These classes will help re-organize these areas for reduced aches and pains, better balance, walking and breathing...and an overall sense of well-being. Monday class will have a hip focus, but still connect with shoulders. Thursday class will have a shoulder focus, but still connect with hips.
Tuesdays @ 4:30 PM:
"Transitional Movements"
We'll focus on improving (1) how we sit from standing, (2) how we sit, (3) how we stand up from sitting, (4) how we transition from lying on the back to lying on the side to lying on the stomach...and more. Many of these classes will involve rolling around on the floor - Feldenkrais patterns that for many are in the favorites list.
Thursdays @ 5:30 PM:
"30-minute RESET"
This shorter format class (sometimes it may be closer to 45 minutes, but absolutely no longer) will have a variable focus week to week. The aim is for a full-body reset that has you feeling an ease and effortlessness in your being.
Fridays @ 12:30 PM:
"Unwind from the Week"
Relax, re-organize and re-energize from the week. This series will be more variable in focusing on different areas of the body each week, aiming instead to improve the overall quality of how we feel, how we move and how we be.
Just Getting Started?
ALL SERIES ARE BEGINNER-FREINDLY
The start of each series features classes especially suitable for beginners. The classes will be simpler, slower-paced and include teaching on how to DO Feldenkrais, i.e. the approach that makes all the difference in how you benefit.

If you don't make it at the beginning of a series, please still feel free to join anytime.
If you are interested in Feldenkrais group classes, this is a great time to start!
FAQ
Helpful Information
WHAT DO I NEED FOR ONLINE CLASSES?
Please wear comfortable clothing that does not restrict your ability to move. You may wish to have extra layers available to adjust for temperature.

You will need a comfortable, firm surface to lie on. This could be a pad / mat on the floor, a carpeted floor, but not a bed. Beds are too soft to allow you to move easily.

You will need some support for your head depending on the position(s) required by the class. Classes most often involve lying on your back or on your side. A couple folded towels or foam kneeling pads work well for head support. You will receive communication prior to the class about what props are needed.

You'll need a device running Zoom. Ideally you will set up your device in advance so that you are visible from head to toe while lying on the floor. This will facilitate better feedback. If you prefer not to be visible or to call in rather than use video, it is totally fine.
WHAT DO I NEED FOR IN-PERSON CLASSES?
Please wear comfortable clothing that does not restrict your ability to move. You may wish to have extra layers available to adjust for your particular temperature needs. I tend to keep the studio fairly cozy in the winter and reasonably, but not overly cool in the summer.

The studio has yoga mats, Mexican blankets and a wide variety of other supports and props. You do not need to bring anything to class unless you prefer your own mat.

I have a number of massage / Feldenkrais tables that can be used by folks not wanting to get down on the floor or get back up. Please ask if you need extra support!
WHICH CLASS SHOULD I ATTEND
The vast majority of classes are beginner friendly. Classes at the start of a new series / session are selected with beginners in mind. That said, people join class at various times over a series and do not have difficulty doing so.

Series have particular themes, but Feldenkrais works with all of you, all the time. Therefore, while a class might have a hip, shoulder, or neck theme, those areas of the body will be addressed within the context of the entire body. People often report feeling the benefits of a class in areas that are unique to them and sometimes surprising.
CAN I GET A RECORDING OF CLASS
You can always request a recording of class. If you need to miss a class in a series or you'd like to repeat a class via recording, this is a great option.
